Michael W. Buchanan; Aug 28, 1953 to Sep 24, 2010

Michael and I were married in November of 1993 and would have celebrated our 17th Anniversary this November. Although we made the personal choice to live separately in the Spring of 2007, we had remained friends through everything; in reality there were a lot of happy times during our 17 year relationship and we chose to remember those times and to value the friendship that we had known from the beginning.

Although he was a life long resident of Baytown, Texas; he had been a resident of New Waterford, Ohio from 2000 until July of 2009 when he decided to return to his hometown of Baytown, Texas. He had worked mostly in the metal painting and fabrication industry during his residency in Ohio, his last place of employment was with EPCO of Boardman from 2004 until 2009.

I will always consider Michael as a friend and I will always miss him.

Here's a poem I wrote for you Gramma,

Thank you for the gift of love,
now you're sharing from it up above.

You always knew just what to say,
you always said it in a caring way.

With a kind smile, you always saw the good in everyone;
you looked past it, no matter what they've done.

Your support gave me the strength to be me,
I hope the world can see, a little bit of you in me.

You were always there for us to lean on;
I know it must have felt like a ton.

You lived your life so full of zest,
But now we must let you rest.

It’s clear your place in heaven must have a good view.
I can hear you telling God, I need to keep an eye on a few.

You will always be in my heart and mind,
because Grandma, you’re one of a kind.

We’ll have no more stories to share,
But I know you’ll always be there.

Between us there will be no goodbyes,
Because you’ll be there when I close my eyes.

Oh and Gramma, just one more thing,
I’ll see ya later and thanks for everything.

Introduction

In August of this year (2010) I began creating what became known as “Remembrance Posts” on my Facebook page because I needed some avenue of expressing my love for my Grandmother, Margie E. Hughes as well as trying to let go of the pain. Thus was born the first of these posts, which began appearing on both, my Facebook page as well as the Heritage House Group page.

I will always consider the summer of 2010 as “The Summer of Losses” because of the number of passings occurring between the months of April through September. It is with these events in mind that I have decided to create this particular Blog. A special place where these people, both family and friends who have meant so much to me will have a permanent place of honor and remembrance. It is here for all of them, past, present and future.

Please remember that the comments contained within this blog are my personal “Tributes and Remembrances” and while other are invited to post their own; I ask that they be submitted in a respectful manner. Some of these may still appear on the Heritage House Group page, but they will no longer appear on my personal Facebook Page for multiple reasons.
